Man Your Battle Stations

Battleship has been heavily promoting their film in the past couple weeks.  Every time I see a commercial I get more and more excited.  I keep imagining what these alien creatures look like since we only get a quick glimpse of their hands or eyes.

The Avengers Assemble !

In preparation for the Friday release of Marvel’s The Avengers, I have watched all of the movies leading up to this epic film.  Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Captain America and Thor, I cannot wait until Friday!!

Lights, Camera, Action!

Film and the process of creating movies is something that has always fascinated me.  How do you get a car to transform into a robot, make magic come out of a wand or create characters and places that are impossible in the real world are just a few questions that come to mind when I think about movies.  As technology progresses the line between reality and fantasy continues to blur.  Much of what we see on the big screen is in fact created on a computer.

Over the past year I have been adding to my personal collection of movies, ranging from present blockbusters like Harry Potter to classics such as the Godfather.  My personal collection of movies has grown to well over 200 DVDs and doesn’t seem to be slowing down.  It is my hopes that when I secure a position out of college I will create a theater in my home or apartment.  This is where I will house my collection and of course have the best technology to view them.

When I watch a movie I like to feel I am actually there, which means having an oversized screen and a sound system that when the T-Rex from Jurassic Park walks by I feel the rumble in the ground.  Viewing movies in the theater, especially IMAX films, is something I really enjoy.  IMAX is a wonderful way of viewing any movie, but especially action packed ones.

Some of my favorite movies for content, visual effects and storyline include but is not limited to; The Harry Potter Series, Silence of the Lambs, National Treasure, Top Gun, Pirates of the Caribbean, Transformers, Pretty Woman, The Fast and the Furious and Jurassic Park.

Movies that are coming soon that I cannot wait to see include; John Carter, The Hunger Games, The Avengers, Men in Black III, The Dark Knight Rises, The Hobbit, The Bourne Legacy and Snow White and the Huntsman.
